AJAX Alarm System 2026 — Review from Practice

AJAX at a glance

  • Grade 3 wireless: one of the highest European intrusion grades, fully wireless — rare among brands in 2026.
  • Jamming protection: Jeweller protocol detects interference, switches frequency and sounds the siren.
  • Outdoor detection: perimeter sensors and outdoor sirens — our default for villas in Spain.
  • Spain installation: local practice on AJAX alarm system in Spain — this page is the product review.

Honest installer verdict · not salespeople

Looking for a reliable AJAX alarm system review for 2026? Most online reviews come from webshops or affiliates who never install on site. We do: since 2019 full-time AJAX installations in Spain, more than 3,000 homes, as an accredited Ajax Systems Partner.

This page is not a product catalogue and not a sales pitch. It is what we see after nearly 8 years of daily work: why AJAX is the best brand in 2026, what is new, and what to look for beyond the brand itself.

Updated on: 27 June 2026

Our verdict in one sentence

AJAX is the first brand with a fully wireless EN 50131 Grade 3 system — and in practice a solid foundation for subscription-free security in Spain, provided the system is set up with outdoor detection, SIM backup and professional installation. The brand alone does not make a secure home.

Why we install only AJAX

Jamming & sabotage

The Jeweller protocol detects signal interference, switches frequency and activates the siren. Outdoor sirens can trigger autonomously. We rarely see that with cheaper wireless brands. More: jamming & signal interference.

Outdoor detection

Modular outdoor sensors and sirens up to 113 dB. In the vast majority of cases they deter intruders before they reach the house. That is our specialisation — not just a hub with indoor sensors.

Subscription-free & ownership

One-time investment; app alerts keep working without a monthly fee. No contract tying you in. See alarm system without subscription.

Certification

Independently tested to EN 50131 — as the first manufacturer fully wireless up to Grade 3. Not a marketing sticker, but laboratory testing. Explanation: license & certification.

Day-to-day reliability

The hub polls sensors continuously; battery warnings in the app; typical battery life of years in practice. After thousands of installations, failures are rare on correctly installed systems.

English-speaking installation

Expats along the Costa Blanca and Costa Cálida get explanation and aftercare in English — from installers who fit the system themselves, not from a call centre.

What is new around 2025–2026?

The biggest shift is not “more gadgets”, but Grade 3 fully wireless. Ajax broke the idea that Grade 3 requires cabling. The Superior line (including the Superior Hub G3 Jeweller) is intended for situations with elevated risk or explicit Grade 3 requirements — and is supplied only through accredited partners.

For large villas and complex plots Ajax is expanding the ecosystem further (more devices per hub, hybrid wired/wireless for renovations). For most homes we see daily, a well-designed Grade 2 setup with outdoor detection is more than enough.

Spain-specific choices (SIM, outdoor siren, sensor positions) are on AJAX alarm system in Spain — that page goes deeper into practice here, not the product list.

Common misconceptions

AJAX is the best brand — but choosing the brand alone is not enough. Watch out for these points:

Buying a box without installation. Wrong sensor placement or no outdoor siren makes the difference between recording and preventing. Professional installation is included in our price.

Monitoring centre as a miracle cure. In Spain a monitoring centre must verify with you first before police are called. Direct app alerts are faster in practice. See investigation into monitoring centre claims.

Cameras only. Cameras verify; they do not replace an outdoor siren. Cameras alone are insufficient.

Grade 3 always mandatory. Not needed for every home. We decide together what fits — not a salesperson on commission.

Why AJAX is the best choice for everyone

After nearly 8 years and more than 3,000 installations we recommend AJAX to everyone — regardless of property type or situation. Not because we do not know alternatives, but because AJAX offers this combination in practice: fully wireless, EN 50131 Grade 3, strong jamming protection, modular outdoor detection and full ownership without subscription. What varies per home is the setup — not whether AJAX is the right choice.

Holiday home & vacancy

Direct alerts to your phone, SIM backup during power cuts and an outdoor siren that works when you are away. Ideal when you are abroad and your home in Spain sits empty.

Permanent residence

Pet-friendly sensors, zones per room and control via app, keypad or tag. The same reliability, tuned to daily use.

Apartment or villa

From a compact setup to large plots with multiple outdoor sensors: AJAX scales. Grade 2 is enough in most cases; Grade 3 is available when needed.

Expats & English-speaking service

Explanation, installation and aftercare in English — from installers who work on site themselves. No call centre, no Spanish-only monitoring centre as intermediary.

Our conclusion: anyone who wants to secure their home seriously in 2026 chooses AJAX. The question is not whether you need AJAX, but how we set it up for your home — with outdoor detection, the right Hub and professional installation. For that we schedule a home visit.

Frequently asked questions about this review

Is AJAX the best brand in 2026? Yes. We recommend AJAX to everyone — provided the system is professionally set up with outdoor detection and the right configuration. We work exclusively with AJAX because alternatives in practice fall short on jamming, outdoor detection or ownership. We do not sell boxes from other brands.

What does an AJAX system cost? Prices for the Hub and common components are on our homepage, including installation. Outdoor detection is bespoke. More answers: frequently asked questions.

How does this differ from other reviews online? We are installers, not an affiliate site. Our verdict is based on installations and fault reports from practice — not specification sheets. See installation examples and Google reviews (4.8).
