AJAX video surveillance: wired Baseline cameras
Ajax Baseline Video Surveillance is a separate product line alongside the wireless alarm system on the Jeweller protocol. On this page you will find every wired IP camera in the Baseline catalogue: BulletCam, TurretCam and DomeCam Mini — in Standard, HL and HLVF versions. For these wired cameras we install them as an accredited Ajax Systems Partner only when PoE/Cat6a is already in place or can be planned during new construction. The wireless AJAX alarm system — our core business — has no such requirement.

What is on this page? All wired Baseline cameras (PoE or 12 V). Not on this page: NVRs (separate page), Wi-Fi cameras (now IndoorCam; more models in early 2027) and the doorbell (separate page).
Wireless cameras for the AJAX alarm system (Jeweller, e.g. MotionCam) belong to the Grade 2 Baseline intrusion line — a different ecosystem from this wired IP video surveillance. For wireless Wi-Fi verification cameras we use EUFY; that is outside this Ajax page.
No cabling in place? We recommend the wireless alarm system with MotionCam, or Wi-Fi verification cameras — not this wired Baseline line.
When do we install wired Ajax cameras?
Only when cabling is already in place — as with many new-build homes, or when the builder runs an Ethernet outlet (Cat6a) from the wall at the requested camera positions.
We do not pull new cables through existing walls. Building new? Running Cat6a during the shell construction phase is simple and inexpensive — plan camera positions early. Quotes and advice are always on site; no fixed price list on this page.
Three generations: Standard, HL and HLVF
Ajax groups wired cameras into three tiers. You choose the form factor (bullet, turret or dome) for mounting and aesthetics; the generation defines lighting and lens flexibility.
| Generation | Lighting | Lens | Extra | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BulletCam / TurretCam / DomeCam Mini | IR (infrared) | Fixed: 2.8 mm (110°) or 4 mm (85°) | Microphone, AI | Available |
| … HL | Hybrid (IR + white light) | Fixed: 2.8 mm or 4 mm | Microphone, AI — better colour at night | New |
| … HLVF | Hybrid | Motorized varifocal 2.8–12 mm | Audio and alarm I/O, microphone, AI | Coming soon |
Lens choice: 2.8 mm = wide view (110°) — ideal for short distances and overview of a facade or driveway. 4 mm = narrower (85°) — more detail at distance. HLVF = zoomable lens for one camera at multiple distances without swapping models.
Which camera suits you?
Three steps from form factor to generation and lens. The tables below list every SKU; during the home visit we confirm what fits your new build or existing cabling.
Step 1 — Choose the form factor
BulletCam
Classic bullet on facade, fence or driveway. Visible deterrent and easy to aim at one zone.
TurretCam
Compact turret under an overhang or on a wall. Less “CCTV look”, same technology as bullet.
DomeCam Mini
Discreet on ceiling or under a canopy. For where a large dome would stand out too much.
Step 2 — Choose the generation
Standard (IR)
Infrared in low light. Fixed 2.8 or 4 mm lens. Most common on new builds with fixed camera positions.
HL (hybrid)
IR + white light for colour at night. Same shapes and lenses; worth considering for terrace, driveway or long vacant periods.
HLVF
2.8–12 mm zoom lens plus audio/alarm I/O. For one camera covering multiple distances. Coming soon
Step 3 — Choose the lens
2.8 mm (110°) — wide overview: driveway, facade, garden at close range.
4 mm (85°) — narrower field with more detail at distance: entrance gate further from the house.
5 or 8 megapixel — 8 Mp gives more detail when zooming; 5 Mp is often enough for verification. HLVF replaces fixed lens choice with a zoom lens.
BulletCam
Classic bullet shape: visibly deterrent, easy to aim at a facade, fence or driveway. Most often chosen for outdoor mounting along property boundaries. Full BulletCam page →

Mounting accessories
Ajax supplies matching brackets and junction boxes per camera type. During installation we choose what fits wall, ceiling or pole.
JunctionBox (118×59)
Junction box for cabling and mounting on wall or pole — common with BulletCam and TurretCam.
MountCam A1 / A2 / B1 / B2
Wall and ceiling brackets in various versions; compatibility per camera model.
Recording and NVR
Wired Ajax cameras are connected to an Ajax Network Video Recorder (NVR) in a complete system. All four variants (8/16 channels, AC or DC), differences and alarm integration are on our Ajax NVR page.
Cameras and alarm system: Wired video surveillance does not replace outdoor detection. Sensors and siren protect your home; cameras provide images for verification and evidence. Read why cameras alone are insufficient and outdoor detection as the foundation of our approach.
Frequently asked questions
Do you also install an alarm system if there is no camera cabling?
Yes. The wireless AJAX alarm system is our core business and does not need Cat6a. The limitation on this page applies only to wired Baseline IP cameras. Without cabling we recommend outdoor detection with MotionCam or Wi-Fi verification cameras.
Must Cat6a already be in place before I contact you?
Not necessarily for an initial conversation. During the home visit we check whether outlets are in the right places and which models fit. On new builds we prefer to plan camera points before the shell construction phase. We do not pull new cables through finished walls.
What is the difference between BulletCam, TurretCam and DomeCam Mini?
The technology (PoE, AI, resolutions, generations) is the same; the difference is mounting and appearance. Bullet = visible outdoors on facade or fence. Turret = more compact under an overhang. Dome Mini = discreet on ceiling or canopy. See also the choice guide above.
When should I choose HL instead of the standard IR version?
HL (hybrid lighting) delivers colour images in low light — useful for terrace, driveway or a home that stands empty at night or in winter. Standard IR is often enough if you mainly need to verify that movement occurred, not necessarily faces in colour.
Do wired Ajax cameras work with an Ajax NVR?
Yes. In a complete system these cameras connect to an Ajax Network Video Recorder. Channels, power and alarm integration are on our NVR page.
5 MP or 8 MP — what makes sense in Spain?
For verification and phone alerts, 5 Mp is often sufficient. 8 Mp pays off when you zoom in on number plates, faces at distance or a wide area with one camera. We advise per camera position during the home visit.
Do wired cameras replace my alarm system or outdoor detection?
No. Cameras provide images; sensors and sirens on the Jeweller protocol provide active protection and outdoor detection. Read why cameras alone are insufficient.
