A camera alone does not secure a home
A camera without an alarm system is not effective security. Burglars wave at the camera, or they sabotage the power. Then the cameras stop working, or they can no longer send a live alert because the Wi-Fi has dropped.
That is why we normally fit cameras only together with an alarm system. Where possible we prefer to place the sensors outside, in the garden. Cameras are an addition to outdoor detection, not a replacement.
An apartment does not have that garden. There the detection sits at the door, not in a garden.
Wired Ajax cameras
Three forms. Each form as standard, HL and HLVF.
TurretCam
More compact than a bullet, under an overhang or on the facade. The same technology, less of a CCTV look.
DomeCam Mini
Discreet on a ceiling or under a canopy, where a large dome would stand out too much.
Standard films at night with infrared. HL adds white light so the picture keeps its colour. HLVF has a zoom lens and is not yet available. Wired camera overview →
If Ethernet cables are already in the home, wired Ajax can be the better choice, for little more.
Ajax Wi-Fi and other brands
Ajax Wi-Fi is an indoor camera for now. Outdoors, on Wi-Fi and a solar panel, we also fit other brands.
IndoorCam. This is the Ajax Wi-Fi model for now: an indoor camera with a motion detector and AI, in the same app as the alarm. Ajax expects more Wi-Fi models in early 2027. More about Ajax Wi-Fi →
Other brands, Wi-Fi and a solar panel. We fit those alongside the Ajax cameras. The advantage is the lower installation cost compared with wired cameras.
Ajax DoorBell
The Ajax DoorBell gives live video, two-way audio and detection at the front door. It needs a very strong Wi-Fi signal to work well.
We can also install an improved, stronger Wi-Fi network. TP-Link is the budget choice. Ubiquiti UniFi is the premium choice. Which brand depends on your preference and your budget.
Backup power when the power goes out
For the supply of both the Wi-Fi cameras and the wired Ajax cameras we use backup power from Bluetti. The Bluetti Premium 30 V2 keeps the camera and the router reachable when the power goes out.

The siren drove him off. The camera recorded who it was.
October 2021 — hidden on a palm trunk, infrared in the dark. Outdoor detection set off the siren and the person fled. The recording shows who was there. Image quality has improved since. You do not see the camera itself.
