AJAX BulletCam: wired bullet camera in Spain
The BulletCam is the visible bullet form in the Ajax Baseline video surveillance line — wired, PoE or 12 V, with AI detection and True WDR. Cabling only. We install wired BulletCams as an accredited Ajax Systems Partner only when PoE/Cat6a is already in place or can be planned during new construction. We install the wireless alarm system without that requirement.
BulletCam does not replace outdoor detection — sensors and siren protect; cameras provide images. See outdoor detection.
When do you choose BulletCam?
Bullet is the most visible form — deliberately deterrent and easy to aim at one zone. In Spain we often see bullet in these places:
Facade and driveway
Overview of driveway, front facade or carport. 2.8 mm for a wide image; 4 mm when the camera is farther from the subject.
Property boundary and fence
Visible along garden wall or fence. IR up to approx. 50 m; HL if you want colour images at night on terrace or driveway.
New build with Cat6a
Builder leaves Ethernet coming out of the wall at fixed points? Bullet is then quick to aim without placing a large dome.
Prefer discreet? Under an overhang, TurretCam often fits; on ceiling or canopy DomeCam Mini. Same generations and lenses — only different mounting. Compare on the choice guide of the hub page.

Detection works the same on BulletCam, TurretCam and DomeCam Mini — only mounting differs. More models on the wired cameras hub.
Three BulletCam generations
Each generation is available as 5 or 8 megapixel, with fixed lens 2.8 mm (110°) or 4 mm (85°) — except HLVF with zoom 2.8–12 mm.
BulletCam (IR)
Base line with infrared. Most chosen for new build with fixed camera points and sufficient verification on the phone.
BulletCam HL
Hybrid lighting (IR + white light) for colour at night. New — see Ajax BulletCam HL.
BulletCam HLVF
Varifocal lens plus audio/alarm I/O. Coming soon

HL vs standard: do you mainly need verification (see movement)? Standard IR is often enough. Do you want colour and detail on terrace, driveway or a long-unoccupied home? Then HL is the logical step.

Mounting in Spain: what we do in practice
Zones and privacy
In the Ajax app you set motion zones and privacy zones — relevant for neighbours, street or pool. We configure this during installation and test on site.
Connection with alarm system
BulletCam can start recordings when a detector triggers. So you jump from alert to image — without a monitoring centre subscription. NVR needed for central storage: Ajax NVR.
We do not pull new cables through existing walls. For new build: plan Cat6a and camera points before the shell construction phase. We choose junction box and brackets per facade or post according to the Ajax catalogue.
