Maintenance Guidelines for Outdoor Detection Systems

Introduction

To qualify for the €1000 burglary guarantee from JEPA Best Products SL (trading as Alarm-System.es), your outdoor detection system must be maintained in accordance with the guidelines below and remain fully operational. These guidelines ensure that your system functions optimally and the guarantee remains valid. These guidelines are aimed at Dutch-speaking, English-speaking, and German-speaking homeowners in Spain.

Maintenance Obligations

• Annual Inspection:
  • After the first 2 years of the guarantee period, you must have an annual inspection of sensors, cameras, siren, and backup battery performed by JEPA Best Products SL.
  • Schedule this maintenance via phone, email, or WhatsApp, as indicated in the guarantee conditions.
• Backup Battery:
  • Replace the backup battery every 4 years or earlier upon defect, as indicated in the system manual.
  • Respond immediately to alerts of a low or nearly depleted battery to avoid negligence.
• Software Updates:
  • Install all software updates provided by JEPA Best Products SL within 30 days of receiving the update notification via the system app.
• No Third-Party Modifications:
  • Do not allow modifications, repairs, or maintenance to the system by third parties without written permission from JEPA Best Products SL. Unauthorized modifications invalidate the guarantee.
• Defect Notification:
  • Notify JEPA Best Products SL of defects, malfunctions, or damage to the system within 24 hours via phone, email, or WhatsApp.
• Smartphone Settings:
  • Configure the system app on a smartphone with a working internet connection, notifications enabled, and sound activated to receive sabotage and burglary alerts, including power failure and offline alerts.
  • Check the camera footage immediately via the app for each alert to assess the current status of the property, as required by the guarantee conditions.
• Environmental Management:
  • Keep sensors and cameras free from obstructions (e.g., plants, dirt) that could affect their operation.
  • Protect the system from extreme weather conditions (e.g., by providing shelter), as indicated in the installation manual.
  • Do not make modifications to the environment (e.g., garden, landscaping) that could interfere with the operation of sensors or cameras, without prior consultation and written approval from JEPA Best Products SL.

• Failure to comply with these guidelines is considered negligence and invalidates the €1000 burglary guarantee.
