Transferring the alarm system when selling the property

When selling a property that has a Hikvision alarm system installed, it is important that the system is transferred correctly to the new owner. On this page, you will find all the steps and options for a smooth transfer.

1. Removing the alarm system from your account

(by the current owner)

The current owner must remove the alarm system from their own Hik-Connect account before the key handover.
Important: The alarm system must be disarmed before it can be removed.

Steps:

  1. Disarm the alarm

  2. Open the Hik-Connect app

  3. Go to the hub settings (via the three dots in the top-right corner)

  4. Select ‘Remove Device’

This will fully disconnect the system from the old account, allowing the new owner to link it to their own account.

 

2. Connecting the system

(by the new owner)

The new owner can easily set up the system again:

  1. Download the Hik-Connect app

  2. Create their own account

  3. Scan the QR code on the back of the hub to add the system

Important:
Since the new owner is not our customer, all questions, explanations, and support must be provided by the previous owner.

We do not offer support to the new owner unless they choose our professional transfer service (see point 4).

 

3. SIM card activation in the system

The SIM card is not sent separately — it is already installed inside the control panel.

If the new owner wishes to use the SIM card functionality (for example as a backup communication line), they will need to take out a new SIM card subscription.

This can be done via:

During checkout, please enter the following in the Comments field:

  • Name of the previous owner of the system (name on the invoice)

Once the subscription has been completed, we can activate the SIM card remotely.

 

4. Professional transfer by our technicians (optional)

If the seller prefers not to handle the transfer themselves, or if the new owner wants full assurance and support,
we can take care of the entire process during an on-site appointment.

We provide:

  • complete transfer of the system

  • inspection and testing of all components

  • firmware updates if needed

  • explanation of usage and settings

  • creation of user accounts

  • 2 years of remote support
